Diana has been creating glass beads since 1998. She has studied glass beadmaking under Milissa Montini, Kate Fowle Meleney, Sue Ellen Fowler, Stevie Belle and most recently, Jeff Barber.

Studying sculpture, color theory and design at the Ivy School of Art and The Art Institute of Pittsburgh, Diana received a Bachelor of Science degree in graphic design and graphic art technology from La Roche College. Her professional life toggles between both the design and communications world and the glass art world.

Diana serves on the board of directors and is the Vice-president of Marketing and Communications for the International Society of Glass Beadmakers based in Columbus, Ohio. She is responsible for the external image of the organization and all organization's marketing endeavors. Additionally, she is the design director all of the the organization’s exhibit catalogs and the editor-in-chief and designer of The Glass Bead, the quarterly publication of the ISGB.

Diana’s art glass beads has appeared in Jim Kervin’s, 2001 edition of More Than You Ever Wanted To Know About Glass Beadmaking, and Lark Books’1000 Glass Beads. And, in 2007 her work was juried into the ISGB’s Metamorphosis exhibit that debuted at the Heinz History Center during the 2007 Glass Art Conference and there-after toured nationally.

Diana has taught glass beadmaking classes at the Pittsburgh Glass Center as well workshops in surface techniques with glass powders, enamels, metallic foils and frits. Her teaching and working mantra makes use of (parallels and perpendiculars) and the 3 f words (Fluid, Flexible and Firm.) Keeping abreast of learning styles, techniques and safety issues, Diana has participated in three of the last four teaching seminars available at the ISGB's annual conference, the Gathering.

Diana is a juried member of the Pittsburgh Craftsmen's Guild, and exhibits her work each year at the Fair In The Park which is rates by Sunshine Arts as one of the 100 best art shows nationally. Additionally, she served on the Guild's committee in the creation of  the A Tryst with Glass exhibit. This exhibit invited craftsmen and artists working in a variety of media, from printmaking, ceramics and fiber. to partner their primary work medium with a one time affair with glass. This exhibit provided an opportunity for all artists to join in the celebration of Pittsburgh's Year of Glass in 2007.

Diana’s inspirations mostly evolve from abstractions of the natural world, design influences from the Arts & Crafts Period of the early 20th century and ancient central Asian Motifs. What fascinates her about working with glass is its ability to change from being translucent, reflective and polished to densely pigmented, rough and earthen-worn. A dichotomy, she feels, that reflects upon many aspects of herself and her life.
